Writing is Vulnerable

As my first post on this blog, I thought it would be appropriate to share my first, knee-jerk reaction to publishing content for you to read.

This. Is. TERRIFYING.

I probably don’t know you, reader, in a real-life sense. I’ve never met you, had a cup of coffee with you, or laughed over pictures of my ridiculously overweight cat with you. But my thoughts and hopes and successes are now yours to peruse.

My fears and failures and grammatical mistakes are, too.

The more I type, the more I realize that my words are a part of me, and hitting the publish button is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

For those of you that have been blogging successfully or publishing books for awhile now, I want to congratulate you. I look up to you and learn from you every day. Getting to know you through your work is a joy. And to those of you that are starting out your journey, I am excited to see your path and learn about who you are, too.

I’ll be blogging here consistently, while also working on my first full-length novel. I would love to hear from you, share work with you, and hear your thoughts on what your writing experience has been like.
